Eerie Antics in a Farm House.

Just outside of the city limits, near the Keezle farm in Harrison township, is an old stone house long deserted, that bears an uncanny name. Small boys invariably whistle when forced to pass it in pursuit of belated kine, and even the sturdy yeoman feels a creeping sensation along his back when he has occasion to go anywhere near the eerie place.

For a number of days the neighborhood has been agog over a series of mysterious occurrences, that seem to originate with this old house as headquarters, and on several mornings evidences have been found indicating diableria of a pronounced character. Barn yard fowls have been wantonly and unaccountably destroyed, or made to disappear altogether, and sights! And sounds! Have been seen and heard. The forms of men have been seen flitting in and about the house, at all hours of day and night, fire arms have been discharged and demoniacal screams have ripped great chasms in the Harrisonian atmosphere. A few bra ve spirits have investigated, but invariably found the house empty under circumstances when it would seem impossible for a human being to escape.

This morning a gentleman of the neighborhood sought Marshal McCally, and informed him that two men were in that house, badly wounded, who were supposed to have been shot. McCally gave his information to Sheriff Bell, who dispatched a deputy to the spot. That officer found the house to be empty as have scores of previous investigators. He did find, however, a suspicious hole out through the floor, though for what possible purpose he cannot conjecture, nor did he have the hardihood to investigate very thoroughly. A posse will visit the house this evening.
