p1c1 - death - Matilda Johnson; Woodlawn Cem.

p2c3 - L. N. Stacher, of Ottawa, is interested in some mining property in New Mexico. Cal Crozier is now engaged in prospecting for him on a claim near Bonito, N.M.

p2c4 - The westbound Mo Pac passenger was late Sunday afternoon. At Paola the train was stopped to take off a smallpox patient, and the car and passengers were fumigated.

p3c1 - Miss Addie Crozier continues to improve in health.

p3c2 - His many friends at this place were somewhat surprised to learn this week of the marriage on the 28th of January at Colorado Springs, of Mr. Wm Crozier to a widow, a most estimable lady with one child, a little daughter of three years. Mr. Crozier had been here recently on a visit and the news was somewhat of a surprise to even his relatives.

p2c2 - Ten year court battle between Greenwood township and Green Richardson settled. Greenwood township will now be enable to make a good road along the south side of the river, which will benefit Pomona by giving People from the southweat a suitable avenue of travel into our city.

p1c1 - Mrs. J. J. Whetstone and daughter are expected to arrive home from Washington in April, where they have been for nearly two years past. MRs. Whettstone's sojourn on the coast has been beneficial to her health, which was very poor when she left here.

p5c2 - The Hartzell boys, sons of W. C. HArtzell, of Perry, Oklhaoma, have been digging coal at Dyer's bank this winter.

p1c4 & p2c2 - Morris Mindlin and Bert Adams form a partnership.

p2c5 - death - H. P. Welch, of Ottawa.

p3c1 - Ben Mindlin, of Homestead, Oklahoma, and Morris Mindlin are in Omaha on a visit to their parents.

p3c1 - J. W. Martin, of Harper Kan., arrived this week with his personal effects. He is the new foreman of the Usher ranch.

p3c2 - Mose Harvey was in town Wednesday. He is no longer connected with the Usher ranch. We understand tha tht egentleman who now holds the lease expects to tend the entire place himself, which will necessitate the hiring of numerous hands.

p3c3 - Zeb Gaddis, one of our former citizens, is now located at Pawnee, Okla. Ter., and doing nicely.

p3c3 - We hear that J. C. Fahring contemplates the erection of a fine new house and barn on his farm this season.

p3c6 - C. A. Cottrell willl move to Anderson county to occupy his farm. Dave Crull will farm it for him this season.

p2c2 - There is a queer situqation out in district No. 62, popularly known as "Rattlesnake" district, but politely called New Hope. It is a joint district, between Osage and Franklin counties, taught by Miss Chloe Ward, of Pomona. The enrollment of the school has been twenty-one this term, and the term has yet a month to run. Wednesday afternoon Sup't Smith received a telephonic dispatch from a director of the district conveying the remarkable intelligence that every family in which was a pupil of school age had removed from the district; the only remaining pupils were six who lived outside the district. He further stated tha tht eteacher insisted on completing her term, and asked for directions. He was told to effect a compromise if possible. - Ottawa Republic.

p2c3 - B. F. Clark moved onto Mrs. Studebaker's farm last week.

p2c1 - Frank Swayze, a successful ex Pomona boy, dropped in last week for a short visit with his mother and brother. He is manager of a lumber yard at South McAllister, Indian Territory.

p2c5 - Mr. Thomas B. Reed is making preparations for a fine residence and barn on his farm.

p3c5 - Amos Blosser, of Centropolis township, passed through town, Tuesday en route for Southern Kansas in a covered wagon.

p3c6 - G. W. Hart is moving into his new residence - the Cottrell place east of town - this week.
