Correspondence 04 Oct 95: Seeking information on William and Sarah (Evans) Thornbrugh. Were in Franklin County in the 1860's and had moved on to Bates County, MO by 1870 and the Quenemo, KS area by 1880.. William's son, L. Newton Thornbrugh, was my gg grandfather. Newton married Mary J. Collett, daughter of Henry and Perlexey Gerard Collett.. Another son of William's was Alfred L. Thornbrugh who married Missouri Swink, daughter of D. B. Swink.

Researching the Plattenburg/Plattenberger name and am interested in any information on James Plattenburg. He was born 12 Feb 1846 in Strougdsburg, PA, and moved to Ottawa Twp., Franklin County, sometime between 1870 and 1880. His family is listed in the 1880 census, Volume 15, Sheet 18, Line 43. Census lists two daughters, Mildred and Edith, born approx. 1877 and 1879.This Census record is the only information I have regarding his life after he left Pennsylvania.

Researching Mann and Wilkersons. John Ace Mann is buried in Howard Cemetery. John had two sons that went West. Story goes that they were killed in a gun fight. It's kind of sketchy - don't know if one or both sons were involved. Just that the bodies were returned to Kansas. They dates I have show the same year, 1916. Their names were John Walter Mann and Clarence Crawford Mann. Also interested in Samuel T. Wilkerson, born 1825 Adair Co., KY, died 20 Apr 1893 in Franklin Co., KS, and his wife Lucy Ann Wright, born 1823 Adair Co., KY, died 23 Aug 1872, Pomona, KS.

Looking for modern descendants of Stephen D. Francis, who lived in Franklin County for several years after the Civil War. he had three sons born in the county before he moved back to Missouri: William F. Francis, born 1868; Charles C. Francis, born 1872, Benjamin Burgess Francis, born 1876. Stephen's wife was Phoebe Ann Gould, and it is known that she had a brother J. A. Gould, who was last reported living in Olathe. correspondence, 22 Sep 96: Researching James W. Stevens, and his wife Hattie Stevens. Resided in Appanoose Twp., Franklin Co in 1880. Hattie still resided there in 1900 although now living with her son Charles H. Stevens and his wife Maud. Their other son Frank E. Stevens and his wife Maude are listed in Pomona, Franklin Co., KS in 1910 and 1920 U.S. Census.

Researching Maxmillian Mabry. He was born in Virginia in 1794 and later moved to southern Missouri. He disappeared from Missouri in the 1860's but I have found a letter from him to his daughter written from Franklin County, KS. If I can establish that he lived there I can start looking at census and land records.

Researching Daniel Sheffey Geyer, died in Franklin Co., Kansas but I'm not sure specifically where or when. H. Sheffey Geyer and his sister were born in Pomona, Franklin Co., KS in 1881 nad 1883 respectively. Therefore, their parents Augustus Edward Geyer and Mary Ellen Lemmon must have been there at that time as well.
