Query: looking for info on: SARAH ELLEN GREEN was born in Illinois 15 Dec 1867. She moved to Illinois and in 1880 to Rooks Co., Ks. She was married by JP J.L. Lock, at the home of her father Caleb on 23 Mar 1884, to Daniel Brummit (age 24). They later moved to Ottawa, Ks., where Daniel ran a shoe store (cir 1917). Ellen was still living in Ottawa in 1947. They had at least three children.

(1) A son, killed on board a ship headed for Europe in 1917-18 during WWI.

Laura May married Charles E. Geers . John Burns owned a farm in Township16, Range 20, Section 5. Charles and Laura had four children: Gladys Oleva, Fred, Agnes, and Elmer J. who died in the 1918 Flu Epidemic. John Burns was born in Ireland but Harriette was not. Query: Harriette Josephine was married to John Burns and they lived in Wellsville, Ks from abt. the mid 1800's until their deaths in 1947 and 1918 respectively. They had three children: Laura May, Estella,and Maggie. Laura May married Charles E. Geers, Estella married Frank Phillips. Laura May and Charles Geers had four children: Gladys Oleva, Fred, Agnes and Elmer J. who died in the 1918 Flu Epidemic. John, Harriette, Elmer, Estella, and Frank Phillips are all buried in the Wellsville cemetery. I am interested in knowing if Harriette was related to any other Kennedys in the area. Query: my grandfather was Homer Albert Thatcher . He was born on 3/24/1887 in Kansas. I believe he was born in Ottawa, Franklin County. I do not have easy access to the 1895 Kansas State census so I have been unable to look for him there. He does not show up in the 1900 census, but there is a Laura Thatcher (age 33) with children Clarence, Bertha, & Jonas. My uncle who just turned 90 in July remembers an Aunt Bertha, Uncle Clarence, and I have a postcard from 1910 sent to Uncle Harry. I have tracked Clarence down, but his death certificate does not indicate who his parents were. I do not know if Laura was Homer's mother or not. I do not know if Clarence & Bertha were actually uncle and aunt. Their father could have been my grandfather's father's brother... I have a 1910 census from Tacoma, WA that has Homer listing his father born in PA and his mother born in Ireland. I do not know how accurate that info is. I have also found a Mary Stutson married to a Henry Thatcher that lived in Ottawa and had children between 1890 & 1900, but no dates match and pages were missing from the LDS record that covered the dates I know. Help! Any assistance would be appreciated.

Query: Martin VanBuren Armstrong b. ~1835 d. 1881. US Army veteran, civil war. Returned home after the war to Rantoul to find his wife and daughters passed on. Married his second wife, Elizabeth Gregg (from Henry County MO) and had three children, one of which, John, is my great Grandfather--the other two are daughters. Martin is said to have come to Rantoul on his own, having left behind several brothers and sisters (disputed total is eight siblings...) and no recollection is made by any living decendants of siblings or parents names.
